Please keep adding relevant words to this project. I find the keyboard quite good. We would also benefit greatly from the 6S cursor functionality being added. Seems like a misstep without that. Love it other than those few Quibbles.
It is an incredible app! It was never so easy to compose a breathtaking account of this outstanding app. Just sample Hemingboard, and you will wish you owned it schooner, or was that sooner.
Ive had the Hemingboard for Mac and iPhone for a few hours now and I can say it is a tremendous fun for a curious or linguistically inclined person (btw, I love the apps name!:-) Dunno how to rate the merits (the functionality) because its my first alt keyboard and Im not generally good at writing on my phone (after all these years. Oh well.).
Keyboard is still rough around the edges preventing me from replacing it with the stock keyboard. It needs more polish, and its still missing accents. Its also missing a lot of the little details that make the stock keyboard really good. Its a good investment and definitely worth supporting the devs. They update the app frequently and it keeps on getting better.
Some suggestions:
-Vibrate on force touch
-Fix dark mode
-More languages
-Emoji icon instead of globe (when there are no other keyboards)
This update fixed most of the problems with the original release, but Hemingboard still doesnt remember my auto-capitalization or autocorrect settings.
Needs better improvements on autocorrect. Also it tends to switch back to the default keyboard by itself, which is very annoying.
Another cool addition I believe all of us would enjoy, is a built in dictionary.
Some bad moments
After entering a word, the Keyboard symbol does not appear.
Tried rebooting system with no change.
Disappointed.
Freezing when start typing, and when you switch between keyboards. Moreover, the characters on keyboard are not aligned by center. Just look at native keyboard and compare.
I have uninstalled the Hemingboard keyboard for a couple reasons:
- The stupid autocomplete bar that suggests words cannot be collapsed. This feature has never been useful and it takes up an enormous amount of room on the screen. This problem alone destroyed the utility of the keyboard.
- Great features such as tap and hold on the 123 button to input punctuation without switching keyboard screens or holding delete to rapidly delete text are missing from this keyboard. It feels like using a keyboard from the original iPhone.
- And of course, the keyboard is slower than a glacier to load due to the fact its a custom keyboard. This isnt the developers fault. All third party keyboards are unusable slow on iOS.
Im disappointed about spending money on the iOS app. The OS X app for Hemingboard is significantly better.
Thats just obnoxious and rude! This keyboard gets aa grade of F- for that! Dumb! ONE STAR!!!
PS Caps lock doesnt work in split mode either! Should be ZERO STARS!!!
I would like to see better support of iPads using a Bluetooth keyboard. While the Hemingboard is active, and using a Bluetooth keyboard, the controls should still be active, however, they are only part of the the onscreen keyboard.
Very useful and awesome. It would be nice If you could reorder the sections, though. Especially if say, you only use rhymes, you would want that at the top of the list of stuff.
