Hemingboard: Synonyms,Rhymes,Puns in Your Keyboard App Reviews

Paid for this yesterday and have been trying to download it ever since. Keeps saying "...could not be downloaded at this time." Looks like an awesome app though, if i could use it.

This is a useful writing tool and fun to play with. I look forward to it maturing, but it is a very innovative and useful app now! Well worth the investment. If you do run into any issues you will be amazed at the support you will receive !!

I bought this app because I was testing iPhone tools for my next app review. I was surprised by its utility! Its definitely worth the money.

I use this app almost daily, it really helps to find the word that helps to get your point across. I do wish however theyd add the double tap/period feature, that is an annoyance. Love the app, but the lack of the double space creating a "." prevents me from rating it a 5 star.

I like to write eccentric replies in txt messages, and doggrel verse. Hemingboard is an excellent thesaurus tool for doing so, and it just happens to be in the form of a keyboard. Its not perfect, for instance it doesnt *yet* (coming soon, I think) have alternate character support for accents, umlauts and such. But on the other hand, its the growing product of a small, loving crew dedicated to language arts. Theyve put their work primarily into building Hemingboards synonymS, antonyms-- a new feature!, rhymes and puns thesaurus functionality. The developers are very responsive to questions about usage, and receiving suggestions from users for future updates.

Excellent keyboard add-on app that puts a thesaurus, rhyming dictionary and more into your keyboard! This means not having to leave your writing app for another program… brilliant.

For an English major w memory loss, this app is help beyond WORDS . Superb idea !

I dont know whether a recent update has caused this, but recently, the app has started changing words Ive typed--somethong predictive, I imagine, but usually wrong. it has also beem changing spelling of words (like names) to a more usual, but incorrect spelling. When I turned off Auto-correct and Auto-capitalization for the app, the responsoveness of the keyboard slowed noticeably. Also, I would likea greater varietu of synonyms and antonyms.

Hemingboard is easy to use, and really helps ifbyou are looking for the perfect word and you just cant find it. Hemingboard will find it for you.

I would like to see better support of iPads using a Bluetooth keyboard. While the Hemingboard is active, and using a Bluetooth keyboard, the controls should still be active, however, they are only part of the the onscreen keyboard.

Very useful and awesome. It would be nice If you could reorder the sections, though. Especially if say, you only use rhymes, you would want that at the top of the list of stuff.

No autocorrect. Not even double space for period. Inconsistent rules for capitalization (typo then backspace, will the shift be on or not? Who knows!) This keyboard isnt up to snuff. It is worse at the basic tasks and the special features arent useful enough to overcome its flaws. Third party keyboards all suffer from this as far as I can tell. If youre thinking about making a keyboard, your first step has to be to be at least no worse than the built-in keyboard. Once youve done that THEN you can add your super neato feature.

Forget googling for the perfect word, this app helps you sound like a professional or rhyme master.

Update fixed all the concerns I had

Ive been using Hemingboard since the day it was released. I absolutely love it. A+. On a side note, it would be great to be able to use the functionality of the yellow button with a Bluetooth keyboard (then again, Im not even sure if that is something thats possible for any 3rd party keyboard apps). 10/10! Keep up the great work.

Double-tapping the space bar doesnt add a period. Also, the autocorrect isnt as accurate as apples own keyboard.

The yellow button features are accessible, handy, convenient, and, auspicious, and expedient. But this keyboard has no predictive text feature, which was the main reason I was still using the stock keyboard anyway. It doesnt remember my auto-capitalization or autocorrect settings or allow me to double tap space for a period. Youve actually removed some of the original keyboards functionality. :(

Any keyboard that includes the word hallucinating (twice) as a synonym for fascinating is probably worth my time (at least one). Then again, as I recall, its actually a rhyme rather than a synonym. Either way, some of us spend a lot of time writing when we arent spending our time thinking (or plotting, perhaps even, conspiring). So, while considering "and why you really want a thesaurus..." Id suggest deliberating upon this one.

The app is okay, just starting to get familiar with it. Doesnt seem to have some of the functionality that is present on the regular keyboard; double space for a period in particular. The price is also $2 less today than it was yesterday when I purchased the app so if you want it get it today. Who knows what itll cost tomorrow.
